Abstract

This item refers to 3 field books of C. D. Hackman and Walter Bulmer from their work with the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program on Kure Island, 1967. Envelope 1 contains a field book by C. D. Hackman that includes field note entries; bird counts; seal counts; bird banding data (listing band numbers 615-08637 to 737-97873); and nest observations with measurements. Envelope 2 contains a second field book by C. D. Hackman that includes banding data (listing band numbers 597-45493 to 903-03489); observations of vegetation on Kure Island; and an illustration of an unknown grass species. Envelope 3 contains a field book by Walter Bulmer that contains shorebird counts; bird returns data (with band numbers 587-72354 to 903-13175); hand-drawn maps indicating nests with eggs; a field entry on Red-tailed tropicbird behavior; and an illustration of a bird.
