Abstract

Black-and-white photographs document Waldo Schmitt's work in the Faulklands [Falkland Islands] during the Walter Rathbone Bacon Traveling Scholarship Expeditions to the East and West Coasts of South America, 1925-1927. Subject matter includes candid images of local inhabitants working; sod blocks being collected; structures; ships in port; detail images of vegetation; and local official ceremony at World War I memorial. Locations include the vicinity of Stanley.
