Abstract

Black-and-white photographs document Waldo Schmitt's work in Chile during the Walter Rathbone Bacon Traveling Scholarship Expeditions to the East and West Coasts of South America, 1925-1927. Some of the photographs are duplicates; some duplicates are in other folders. Sometimes numbers or short description are listed on the backside or edge of the photograph image. Subject matter includes images of vessels and people at work in ports; wooded hills in Indian Reach; and street images of town. Locations include region of Valparaíso, waters around Isla Chiloé.
