Abstract

Black-and-white photographs document Waldo Schmitt's work during the Walter Rathbone Bacon Traveling Scholarship Expeditions to the East and West Coasts of South America, 1925-1927. Some of the photographs are duplicates from other folders. Subject matter includes detail images of lobsters in the midst of rocks along the shoreline; fisherman in port and fishing; portraits of individuals; group portraits; children; vegetation; and different types of facilities. There are no markings on the backs of photographs; some have numbers on the front. Locations are through out Brazil.
