Abstract

This item primarily consists of Bailey's field notes regarding beaver trapping in and around Allegany State Park, Huntington Forest, and Lyons Falls in New York state. The item also includes a mammal catalog for specimen no. 11360-11370. Entries include scientific name or common name, locality, and date of collection. The field book also includes a list of birds observed near Hawk Mountain, Pennsylvania and notes taken by Bailey while on a trip to the North American Wildlife Conference in Memphis, Tennessee. One drawing of a beaver trap is contained in the back of the book. Below the drawing, Bailey has written, "This is the best beaver trap I have seen, and should be borrowed for a sample.
