Abstract

These are Bailey's field notes from the Grand Canyon, Arizona, April 22-July 9, 1939 and from Pennsylvania, New York, and Kentucky, July 15-October 3, 1939. Localities in Arizona include House Rock Valley, South Canyon, Saddle Canyon, Saddle Mountain, Jacob Lake, Bright Angel. For more information on Arizona localities, see Bailey's annotated maps of Grand Canyon National Park in Box 5 Folder 13 of the same collection. The item includes entries regarding trapping of animals in the vicinity of Albany and Glens Falls in New York. It also contains notes on lectures given in Lexington, Kentucky and brief descriptions of the landscape of upstate New York, Pennsylvania, and Manchester, Vermont. Information about the landscapes are accompanied by descriptions of Bailey's lectures and meetings regarding the humane trapping of animals.
