PrintThis field book contains notes Knab took from 14 April 1903 to 18 October 1904 on mosquitos and mosquito larvae, and possibly other Diptera in the United States and Mexico. Knab's 1903 descriptions of collecting are extremely detailed and include weather and environmental conditions and physical descriptions of specimens. Notes from 1903 cover various locations in Massachusetts including Cummington, Springfield, West Springfield, Hampton Pond (now Pequot Pond), and Montgomery. These notes also contain specimen numbers 1-97. Notes from 1904 have briefer descriptions and cover the Crystal Lake area (Illinois?) and Cordoba, Mexico. These notes also contain specimen numbers 101-108 and 257-279.
