Localities are primarily in the vicinity of Yosemite Valley. The final section of the book is dedicated to Brewer's notes on the genus Sequoia (redwoods). Specimen no. 1359-4980 are represented in the book. Data typically include scientific name, locality, elevation, date of collection, and often contains narrative description of growing conditions. Brewer sometimes notes radius and age of specimen.
