Abstract

The notebook documents Waldo Schmitt's work during the Walter Rathbone Bacon Traveling Scholarship Expedition to the West Coast of South America, 1926-1927. Station data covers stations 70-127, January 31, 1927 - May 18, 1927. Entries are numbered and detail locations, collecting site conditions, date, and sometimes a combination of type of specimen (by scientific or common name), time of day, tide position, density measurements, water and air temperatures, sketches of specimens. Sometimes measurements are taken several times throughout a day. Location in South America include sites in Chile.
