PrintThis 30 page field book contains field notes from 14 December 1936 to 6 March 1837 during Blackwelder's trip to Puerto Rico and Jamaica. During this trip, Blackwelder collects beetles (Coleoptera) and possibly other insects. Specific localities, some elevations, and descriptions of environmental surroundings of specimen are also included. Blackwelder visits several specific locations, which are numbered as stations 345 to 444. Locations in Puerto Rico include, but are not limited to, Rio Plata near Ton Alta, Bayamon, El Yungue, and Guanica Lake (Laguna de Guanica). Locations in Jamaica include, but are not limited to, Ferry River (Fresh River), Annotto Bay, Mammee River, Ram's Horn Ridge, and Banana River. Station 444 records specimen received as gifts from Trinidad, St. Lucia, and Antiqua. During this trip, Blackwelder meets with Wetmore (Alexander Wetmore) in Puerto Rico and collects with Dr. Chapin (Edward Chapin) in Jamaica.
