Arsène and Agnes Chase, Associate Agrostologist at the Smithsonian Institution. The plant catalog includes a section on Gramineae, and a list entitled "Plantes du Frere Nicolas", plants of Brother Nicholas, with an introductory page in French. The catalog describes plants by scientific name, often including date and locality of collection, and sometimes include comments in English or French.
