Abstract

This items is primarily composed a catalog of Mexican plants compiled by Brother G. Arsène in 1931. The item also contains correspondence between Brother G. Arsène and Agnes Chase, Associate Agrostologist at the Smithsonian Institution. The plant catalog includes a section on Gramineae, and a list entitled "Plantes du Frere Nicolas", plants of Brother Nicholas, with an introductory page in French. The catalog describes plants by scientific name, often including date and locality of collection, and sometimes include comments in English or French.
