Abstract

This item is comprised of field notes taken by Bailey in the course of his research efforts related to animal trapping, primarily in Nevada from November 3, 1937 to December 31, 1937. Dated entries include narrative description of environmental conditions including weather, descriptions of traps, locality, animals caught in traps, and events related to the trapping of particularly of coyotes, but also of bobcats, badgers, jack rabbits and other mammals. The item also contains a list of common names of birds seen in Fallon, Nevada, November 6, 1937 to December 14, 1937. Other localities in Nevada include: Hazen, Carson (Carson City), and Reno. The notes also mention coyote trapping in Twin Oaks, California.
