Abstract

This record refers to 9 field books created by D. I. Hoff and J. H. Firtch during their work with the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program in 1967 and 1968 on Mokapu Point. Envelope 1 contains unbound field notes of D. I. Hoff. Notes include descriptive field notes with observations of birds and island, and bird banding data (with band numbers 587-80377 to 797-89521). Envelope 2 contains the field notes of an unknown author with bird observations, bird counts, and hand-drawn maps of bird colonies. Envelope 3 contains the field notes of D. I. Hoff and J. H. Fitch. They include banding data with band numbers 587-80391 to 767-48586. Envelopes 4 and 5 contain the field notes of D. I. Hoff. Notes include bird observations; a list of birds, status (with egg or no eggs), sex, and description of gonads; a hand-drawn map of Red-footed booby colonies; and banding data with band numbers 757-60663 to 767-48569. Envelopes 6-9 contain the field notes of J. H. Fitch. The notes include bird , animal , and insect observations; bird sera lists; and bird banding data (band numbers 587-80369 to 767-53111). The notes also include mongoose observations and sera lists for mongooses.
