Abstract

The 1956 diary records Waldo Schmitt's observations during the Bredin-Smithsonian Caribbean Expeditions, 1956-1959. Entries are sometimes dated, and include interactions with colleagues and local inhabitants (includes names), daily activities, preparing specimens, details about destinations, supplies (including food), expenses, terrain of locations where specimens and soil samples collected, times dredging. Names specific island destinations throughout Caribbean.
