Abstract

This field book contains a specimen list of insects Hubbard collected in Arizona and California from 1896-1898. The list contains numbers 1-138, although numbers 1-136 (recorded in 1896 and 1897) are annotated as corresponding with numbers 737-881. The notes are continuous from 10 December 1896 to 10 April 1897 and pick up again in 1898 with two entries in May and June. Insects collected include Diptera, Neoptera, Lepidoptera, beetles (Coleoptera), and possibly other orders and classes of insects. The occasional non-insect specimen is included, for example, a snake and a salamader. Locations Hubbard collected in include, but are not limited to Tucson, Yuma, San Diego on the Coronado Beach, and Pine Canon in the Chiricahua Mountains. Inserted into the field book are several sheets of paper containing specimen numbers 6-17c from Crescent City Florida, April-June 1881.
