Abstract

This field book contains a specimen list of insects Hubbard collected in Crescent City, Florida between 29 March and approximately 5 May 1895 entitled "Biological series Fla. 1895". Specimen numbers begin at 36 and continue through to 75. Hubbard notes that specimen number 1 begins in the 1881 experiment book. Each specimen listed is followed by a detailed description of the specimen, where and how it was found, and what damage if any was caused to the plant. Following the 1895 list is another list from January to 8 April 1896 containing numbers 1-18, which are annotated with their "permanent numbers". Specimens listed include Diptera, Coleoptera, and other orders of insects. Brief notes from June and July of 1894 are also included.
