Abstract

This unbound log book contains duplicate copies of some Vema cruise 14 tows from New York-Buenos Aires between 10 November 1957 and 8 January 1958. These duplicate copies are handwritten, not photocopied, and there may be differences between copies. Original copies are in the item "Vema cruise 14, November 1957-August 1958". The notes range from station number 11 D-49/S and range in coordinates from 38.03N 70.48W to 35.306S 52.45W. Logs record the following types of information: cruise number, station number, coordinates, date, median local time, type of tow [typographic error "type of two" in the item], net it, net out, length of two [i.e. tow], current meter reading, wire angle, corrected depth, displacement vol., corrected displ. vol, vol. H20 filtered, length of wire out, time, sky condition, sea number, Hansen Hydro Station number, number of samples, max. depth, core number, comments, observer (name). Sheets signed what looks like "Peter Trummil".
