Abstract

The notebook documents Caleb Kennerly's observations during the Northwest Boundary Survey, September 1856 - December 1857. Entries are dated and are journal style. First sections refers to planting, harvesting, and processing grain. Includes lists of birds observed in the Orcas Island, descriptions of daily activities, sailing conditions, names and activities of Survey participants. Also includes calculations. Some pages are difficult to read because of faded writing. Locations include the San Juan Islands in Puget Sound of Washington.
