Abstract

This record refers to 6 field books from the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, Leewards Survey 21. Envelope 1 contains the bird banding book of Charles A. Ely from his work on Midway Island, Pearl and Hermes Reef. This book contains bird banding lists with band numbers 705-12701 to 705-12778; bird counts; seal counts; brief field notes; and a hand drawn map. Envelope 2 contains a sera catalog from Leewards Survey 21. This catalog only contains one page of data, listing band numbers 587-84396 to 587-84399. Envelope 3 contains the bird banding book of D. I. Hoff from his work on Lisianski Island. This book contains bird banding lists with band numbers 558-57783 to 923-59000; Hawaiian Monk seal counts; and brief field notes. Envelope 4 contains a second sera catalog but with no data entered. Envelope 5 contains a bird banding book by Charles Ely, D. I. Hoff, and A. B. Amerson, Jr. from their work on Lisianski Island. It includes bird banding numbers 587-84302 to 943-00879. Envelope 6 contains a bird banding book, author unknown, from Eastern Island, Laysan Island, and Lisianski Island. It contains field notes and lists bird band numbers 575-94192 to 943-86700.
