Abstract

Data contained in this notebook reflects Archer's research on tobacco plants in North and Central America from 1935-1936. It contains his specimen no. 3429-4061. The first page of the field book contains a hand written title that reads, "Exploration for tobacco varieties in Mexico and Central America, 1935-1936, W.A. Archer, Division of Plant Exploration and Introduction, U.S. Dept. Agr., Washington, D.C., EEUU.". Localities are primarily in Mexico, and include places within the states of Veracruz, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Chiapas, and others. Other localities in North and Central America include New Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica.
