Abstract

The note book documents Caleb Kennerly's observations and collecting efforts during the Northwest Boundary Survey, 1859. Begins with a list of supplies and then a descriptive journal style entries of observations of the San Juan Island. Includes details about surveyor's duties, supplies procured, observations of wildlife (including measurements). From the back he records specimen numbers and common names, measurements, collecting locations, and dates. Locations in Washington include Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, and Columbia River.
