Abstract

Caleb Kennerly's journal documents his collecting and observations of birds during United States and Mexican Boundary Survey, 1859-1860. Entries are listed by specimen number, and include scientific name sometimes common name, collecting site, and date. Other details include descriptions of quantity observed, surrounding vegetation, appearance, and behavior. Includes sketches of landscapes with notes and lists of supplies in the back of the notebook. Locations referred to include locations in Texas, and Fort Clark, El Paso, Devil's River in Texas.
