Description

This collection consists of two field notebooks, volumes 1 and 2 of Richard Eliot Blackwelder field notebooks, 1935-1938. These notebooks contains field notes from 1935-1937 during Blackwelder's trip to Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and several islands in the Caribbean. During this trip, Blackwelder collects beetles (Coleoptera) and possibly other insects. Specific localities, some elevations, and descriptions of environmental surroundings of specimen are also included. Blackwelder visits several specific locations, which are numbered as stations 1 to 444. During this trip, Blackwelder meets up with both Alexander Wetmore and Edward Chapin.
