Description

Consists of records created and maintained by Theodore H. Reed, Director, 1958-1983, documenting collecting trips for bongos and other African deer, their transfer to the National Zoological Park, and their breeding activities in captivity. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, field notebooks, some shipping and travel documentation, cost estimates, photographs of bongo, and a manuscript. Materials primarily cover wildlife collected from Ivory Coast and Kenya.
