Description

This collection describes the nine folders of field notes within the "Richard Rathbun papers, 1870-1918 and undated". Non field note related materials are described in the Smithsonian Institution Archives finding aid for this collection, linked to in the "Related Materials" section of this record. The field notes described here contain also contain research notes, sketches, and maps. They document Richard Rathbun's work on Brazilian fauna as Geologist on the Geological Commission of Brazil, 1875-1878.
