Description

This collection contains six folders of field notes created by Joseph Rosewater. The materials within these folders was created between 1950-1980. Rosewater's field notes relate to collecting trips taken in Alaska (1978-1982); Maine and New Hampshire (1955); Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, and Kentucky (Salt River expedition, 1958); and Singapore and Malaysia (International Indian Ocean Expedition, 1960-1965). The field notes record information about invertebrate specimens, often mollusks. This collection record only describes field notes and field research within the Rosewater papers. Other materials include correspondence, manuscripts, notes, photographs, photocopied field notes, and related materials documenting Rosewater's curatorial career at the USNM, malacological research, professional activities, and collecting expeditions.
