Description

This collection consists of 11 field books of Mason Ellsworth Hale from collecting trips to South Africa, Namibia, Venezuela, Australia, and Antarctica, from 1975 to 1988. This collection originally resided with the ferns and lichens field books and is now housed with the Department of Botany field books. Hale's collecting activities focused on lichens. The field books include determinations, specimen notes, and narrative diary-type entries that document collecting trips.
