Description

This collection consists of the field notes and photograph lists of Conrad Vernon Morton, spanning from 1926 through 1972. Morton collected ferns and other plants in the United States, Mexico, Cuba, Honduras, Saint Vincent, and Canada. Early books were kept by Morton while he was working for the University of California (Berkeley) and include local collections made. Later notebooks were kept by Morton while on the staff at the Smithsonian Institution. Several books are devoted to specimens in the collections of other herbaria/institutions including Kew (England), Paris (France), Brussels (Belgium), and others. This collection originally resided with the ferns and lichens field books and is now housed with the Department of Botany field books.
