Description

This collection consists of 3 field books by Frederick A. Walpole, documenting botanical collections and illustrations made between 1896 and 1904. The books include: entries on Walpole's daily work as a botanical artist for the Department of Botany, U.S. National Herbarium; entries on illustrations created (including watercolor paintings and pencil drawings); and entries for specimens collected in the field. Locations include Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
