Description

This collection consists of 11 field books of Egbert H. Walker, documenting his collecting activities in the United States, New Zealand, and Japan, from 1928 to 1955. Most of the books are lists of plants that Walker collected. Entries generally include collector number, scientific name, locality, and date. Sometimes Walker also includes physical descriptions of specimens, or descriptions of habitats or localities. Collector numbers 1 through 8435 are included in the field books. One volume consists of a list of visitors that Walker had to his office, with name, institution, and contact information. Locations in the United States include: Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and others. Locations in Japan include Okinawa.
