Description

This collection consists of 4 field books of George Vasey from collecting and surveying activities (especially of grasses), 1868 to 1899. Vasey collected throughout the western United States including in Colorado, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and other states. Included is one field book on the expedition of Major John Wesley Powell in Colorado in 1868. Field notes include lists of plants collected, lists of plants observed, and narrative descriptions of the landscape and vegetation of the area.
