Description

This collection contains one field book created by Allen Hiram Curtiss containing a specimen list of botanical specimens collected near Jacksonville, Florida, from 13 May to 9 November 1893. Collector numbers 1-508 (the same specimens are given numbers in the 4000s, approximately 4089 to 4491). Most of the plants collected are magnoliophyta, many of which are grasses, magnoliopsida, and liliopsida. Each specimen is listed by its taxonomic name, date, and brief description of surrounding environment. Some specimens are described further at the end of the list and include measurements and other information.
