Description

This collection is comprised of field notes, correspondence, specimen labels, annotated manuscripts, and specimen determination lists collected during the Cinchona Missions Expedition (1930s-1960s). It includes documents pertaining research done a variety of organizations on the Rubiaceae family of plants. These organizations include but are not limited to: the American Quinine Company; the Unite States Foreign Economic Administration; the United States Dept. of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Administration within the Bureau of Plant Industry; the Smithsonian Institution United States National Museum, Herbarium of the National Arboretum.The collection also includes an inventory of collections transferred to the National Herbarium in 1952.
