Biographical History

William Jasper Sando (1927 - 1996) was a geologist and paleontologist. He earned his Ph.D. in Geology from the Johns Hopkins University (1953) and worked for the United States Geological Survey 1954 until his retirement in 1993. Sando researched fossil corals and how their evolutionary development could be used to gain understanding of the ancient geological history of the Rocky Mountain region of the United States.
