Biographical History

Perry Wilbur Fattig (1881-1953) ‎was an entomologist. Much of his lifelong specimen collecting focused on the insects of Georgia. He was born June 1, 1881 in Liberty Township, Ohio. He earned a B.S. (1912) and M.S. (1913) from Ohio University and a B.S. in education from Ohio State Normal College (1914). In 1903 he married Clara Mae Fenstermaker. He spent the majority of his career in higher education, working at a professor in the fields of biology and agriculture at institutions like State Teacher College, North Dakota; University of Florida, State Teachers College in Virginia. Fattig was curator of the Emory University Museum from 1926 to 1953. He died from a heart attack on December 7, 1953.
