Biographical History

John H. Fitch was born 1944, and received his B.A. in Anthropology and Zoology from the University of Kansas, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Zoology, focusing on ecology and environmental studies from Michigan State University. He was a staff scientist and assistant field director for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Fitch has worked at Michigan State University, University of North Dakota, Tufts University, the Massachusetts Audubon Society, Mainewatch Institute, and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. His most current work is as an Associate Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University, in the Environmental Studies Program.
