- In the early days of my career as an archivist, I had the privilege of cataloging the papers of Grace Nicholson, a collector, businesswoman, and amateur anthropologist who collected not only Native American materials from tribes in California and the Southwest, but also focused Asian art. Now approximately 10,000 photos of hers are now fully organized and cataloged, including images from her collecting trips up and down the Pacific Coast.
