Name What do you do?
I’m the Program Assistant in the Institutional History Division.
Favorite spot in DC to recommend to others:
It’s so hard to choose! But if I have to, I’d pick the U.S. National Arboretum. It’s a beautiful green space that not enough people discover.
Collection favorites:
Record Unit 298, Local Notes. Local Notes is an internal newsletter that Smithsonian employees produced weekly to keep up to date with one another. Each week has stories about what adventures Smithsonian employees are getting up to. One of my favorites is the edition which reported that in 1919 on April Fool’s day 614 people called the Zoo asking for Mr. Lion, Mr. Fox, Miss Wolf, or Miss Seal.
