Each Monday, sit back, relax, and ease into the work week with puzzles created from images in our collections that have been designated as open access. Anyone can now download, transform, share, and reuse these images as part of Smithsonian Open Access, launched in 2020.
These days, we’re pretty much living in our chunkiest cotton sweatpants. In honor of National Textile Day, this week’s open access puzzle is taking us back to a much more, um, stylish time. With limited budgets, Smithsonian curators exhibited collections in dark mahogany cases that could easily be reconfigured and moved around in the Arts and Industries Building. The case below features textile samples and shoes.
