Each Monday, sit back, relax, and ease into the work week with puzzles created from images in our collections that have been designated as open access. Anyone can now download, transform, share, and reuse these images as part of Smithsonian Open Access, launched in 2020.

Today’s puzzle features Holt House, an administrative building of the National Zoological Park. Smithsonian historians believe the neo-Palladian building was constructed between 1809 and 1818. Commissioners for the National Zoo purchased the building in 1889 for $40,000 from Dr. Henry Holt, a physician who had owned the property since 1844. Smithsonian administrative personnel occupied the property until 1988, when it was boarded up for future use. Holt House was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
