Am I Related to James Smithson?

9/6/2011, 10:23 am by

I think I might be a relative of James Smithson. How can I verify this?

Responses

James Smithson did not have any children and therefore has no descendants. If you’d like to find out more information about James Smithson’s lineage, Wikipedia has posted the family tree of Smithson's ancestors, and Smithsonian Archives Research Associate, Heather Ewing, has written a biography about him: Ewing, Heather (2007). The Lost World of James Smithson : Science, Revolution, and the Birth of the Smithsonian. [USA]: Bloomsbury.
