The National Zoological Park

Alligators at the Zoo In 1900 the National Zoological Park had been open for almost 10 years and housed 839 animals. Among them are those seen here: alligators in the original Animal House built in 1891 . . .

A popular annual event at the National Zoological Park by this time was the Easter Monday Easter Egg Roll which took place on Lion and Tiger Hill. Crowds spent the day watching animals, picnicking and enjoying the Easter Egg Roll.Easter Monday at the National Zoological Park
