DESCRIPTIVE ENTRY

This accession consists mostly of records documenting Murray L. Johnson's activities as a member and officer of the American Society of Mammalogists (ASM), circa 1958-1995. Johnson, Curator of Mammals at the Puget Sound Natural History Museum, served as President of ASM, 1970-1971. The records include his files as ASM President; materials concerning ASM annual meetings, including group photographs; records documenting the work of the ASM Committee on Systematic Collections, Committee on Resolutions, and Marine Mammal Committee; and ASM publications. Materials also include biographical files maintained by Johnson on ASM members and other mammalogists and scientists. The biographical files contain some of Johnson's professional correspondence.
