This accession consists mostly of records documenting Murray L. Johnson's activities as a member and officer of the American Society of Mammalogists (ASM), ca. 1958-1995. Johnson, Curator of Mammals at the Puget Sound Natural History Museum, served as President of ASM, 1970-1971. The records include his files as ASM President; materials concerning ASM annual meetings, including group photographs; records documenting the work of the ASM Committee on Systematic Collections, Committee on Resolutions, and Marine Mammal Committee; and ASM publications. Materials also include biographical files maintained by Johnson on ASM members and other mammalogists and scientists. The biographical files contain some of Johnson's professional correspondence.

Descriptive Entry

This accession consists primarily of records documenting Murray L. Johnson's activities as a member and officer of the American Society of Mammalogists (ASM), circa 1958-1995.
