Quantity:1 cu. ft. (1 record storage box)
Collection:Accession 01-105
Language of Materials:English
Summary:

This accession consists of materials that document the planning and development of an interactive CD ROM by the National Museum of American Art (NMAA) under the leadership of Nina Tovish, New Media Producer and Learn Technologies, Inc. The interactive CD ROM project was based on NMAA's permanent collection and developed as an interactive electronic component to compliment and supplement the new printed permanent collection highlights catalogue. Although it would supplement the printed catalogue, it could also stand alone and function as an "informative virtual exploration of the museum." The goal of the interactive CD ROM project, as stated in the "Functional Specifications" dated December 20, 1994, was to present "a rich portrait of American art in a social and cultural context -- emphasizing NMAA as not only the leading repository of American art in the world, but also as a leading center in the research into and understanding of American Art in such a context." Materials include functional specifications, notes, meeting agendas, correspondence, memoranda, schematics, workflow schedules, images of screen displays, and CD ROM's (11). Some materials are in electronic format.
