A discussion of several items contained in the will of Charles L. Freer, including the employment of a curator for the Freer Gallery of Art and the conditions in the will that pertain to the selection of a curator, the construction, ornamentation and administration of the building and gardens, and the bequest of shares of Parke, Davis and Company stock. The Regents resolved that only a portion of the income of the residual estate should be used for study of the civilization of the Far East, and that the Freer building should be closed to the public during the installation of the collections in order to avoid interruptions and delays. The Secretary stated that efforts were being made to have the inheritance tax of $400,000 on the Freer estate remitted.
