Summary

  • Color postcard of a paintingof an organ by Frederick Crace, English, 179-1859, North Wall, Music Room, Brighton Pavilion, watercolor and gouache, at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. It has rich red and gold hues. The front of the postcard has a white border. The postcard is addressed to Cynthia A. Hoover, Curator of Musical Instruments at the National Museum of American History, with a message for her, as follows:
  • "Sept 25, 1978 Dear Cynthia, I expect to be in Washington October 18th afternoon with my new husband. I've never seen your collection, and so that is to be our one and only stop in D.C. on our way to Florida! I do hope to catch you in, to at least say hello, although I know you are busy. I've just moved to NY and am busy investigating museumy things. As well as organ building, which I've been doing this past year. Lindsay has just moved here, too, and is at Sotheby's! It would be fun to see you-I look forward to it Lisa Compton Eichenfield"
  • The message side also has printed information about the artwork featured on the postcard.
