Summary

Color postcard of Auguste Rodin's sculpture, "The Burghers of Calais" (1886), from the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. The bronze sculpture depicts six men of Calais when they went to the gates to meet their conqueror, Edward III of England in 1347. The image shows the work in the Hirshorn Museum's Sculpture Garden.
