Alexander Wetmore (left), Ratibor Hartmann (center) and Cristobal Sánchez (right) at Ana Luz, south of Chepo, Panama, are standing beside a jeep that has an Explorers Club flag hanging off its side. Wetmore and Hartmann hold birds that they collected in their hands. Hartmann and Sánchez assisted Alexander Wetmore, sixth Smithsonian Secretary and ornithologist, and Watson Perrygo, taxidermist at the United States National Museum, on their scientific field trips to Panama.
