Notes

  • A collection of photographs of noted lepidopterists active primarily from the 1840s through the 1950s was assembled over a period of years by staff of the Department of Entomology. Many of the lepidopterists pictured worked for either the United States National Museum or the United States Department of Agriculture. The majority of the images are not original prints; they were cut out of professional journals and books.
