This accession consists of three websites and one blog maintained by the National Portrait Gallery. The main National Portrait Gallery website, crawled July 21, 2013, includes information on exhibitions, visiting, educational activities, publications, research projects, and donating. The website also includes the online exhibition "Picturing Business in America: Hedcuts in the Wall Street Journal." This accession does not include detailed collections information. The "Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2013" website was crawled on July 21, 2013. The competition and resulting exhibition celebrates excellence and innovation, with a strong focus on the variety of portrait media used by artists today. In addition to information about the competition, it includes the portraits submitted by the finalists. The "CivilWar@Smithsonian" website, crawled July 30, 2013, is dedicated to examining the United States Civil War through the Smithsonian Institution's extensive and manifold collections.
